Rumble At The Oak Tree

What a weekend! Isringhausen Motorsports had a successful weekend (despite the heat and humidity!) racing with the Porsche Club of America (PCA Zone 2) at Virginia International Raceway –VIR – June 19-20.  Team driver Harold Petit took Saturdays sprint race win in his Isringhausen/BILT Racing Porsche Cayman.  Geoff Isringhausen followed that up on Sunday with a win in the 1.5 hour enduro race.

We raced in PCA class GTB1 which is predominately Cayman race cars, but some 997 911's also compete in this class.

Our support team for the weekend included David Drake and Tom Bennett providing car preparation, maintenance and even a nice lunch spread (see photo below by Dan Clarke).

Our long time coach, "Speedy" Dan Clarke, was on hand to provide guidance on where we could cut seconds from our lap times. Harold caught on quicker than Geoff which helped him bring home the win on Saturday. By the Sunday enduro race Geoff had gotten more comfortable with the track speeds and he was able to run his quickest laps of the weekend.

The wins this weekend would have not been possible with the grueling work of the Dave, Tom and Dan. Thanks fellas! And a big thank you to BILT Racing for such great cars!
